God said to Jacob arise and go t o B ethel, and l iv e there, and make an al tar to the God . Jacob said to his family members, and other s with him, to put away strange God s and be clean , and change your garments . He further said , let us go to Beth el , and built a altar to the God, who answer ed me in the day of distress . J ac ob came to Luz the land of Canaan , that is Bethel and b uilt an altar there , called it E L - BETH - EL, because God appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother. Again God appeared to J acob and bl essed him , and said to him , I am God almighty , be fruitful and multiply , and a nation and company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your Loins . And the Land which I gave Abraham and Issac , to you I will give it, and for your childre n, I will give it after you , and God we nt up from him.
